Despite being six months into a recession, average asking rates for the DFW office market have only seen a minimal decrease since the beginning of the year. It’s no surprise that the DFW office market turned more negative for the quarter with a negative 2.7 million square feet. Year-to-date, there’s been a negative 3.4 million square feet recorded with about 60% of the negative absorption due to vacant sublease space. A combination of new construction, negative absorption and increasing sublease space created an extreme dip in occupancy. Read more in the full report.
